Spreading Santorum: Paid For By Mitt Romney!


Is Rick Santorum's “Google Problem” website - the one that ranks first when you Google Rick Santorum, and produces a hilariously revolting definition of the former Senator's surname - sponsored by fellow Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney?

It certainly looks that way:

Lovely. As if that weren't bad enough, the ad shown here is from Mitt Romney's official campaign (as opposed to the Super PAC he benefits from but disavows).

After Santorum and Romney fought to a near-draw in the closest Iowa caucus results in history, more people than ever are Googling the former's name, too.

It's unclear who is behind the site Google bombing Santorum, or whether the ad was bought for the site specifically or on an ad network that includes the site.

Either way, for the anti-gay marriage conservative, who went from an also-ran to a top-tier contender overnight, it's a Google problem that won't go away.
